Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
A Qualification achieved through a 1-day course that enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at work. Suited to working environments that have a minimum amount of hazards along with a low number of employees.
The course will familiarise students with the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, including assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness. Students will learn and be assessed on their practical ability to deal with casualties who have stopped breathing, are unconscious, are bleeding and suffering from shock.
The minimum contact time for the course is 6 hours. This can be split over a maximum of 4 weeks, with sessions lasting no less than 2 hours. Candidates are assessed by ongoing practical assessment by the Tutor throughout the course. All successful students will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate which lasts for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications.
